Blow Past Procrastination and Get Started In One Easy Jump
What can you jump in on today, even if you aren’t ready?
Last week one of my friends called me frantically asking for help. She had a big project due for work and was hopelessly behind on it.
She rightfully blamed herself for her predicament, saying that she had had difficulty deciding where to start the project. So she put the whole thing off while she tried to figure things out, which she obviously never did.
This resulted in her current panicked situation. All too often, finding the best place to start on anything can be an unfortunate way for absolutely nothing to get done.
When left up to our not so helpful devices, it’s easier to procrastinate, put things off, and wait until everything is absolutely perfect before starting.
If you’re thinking about doing something, you’re not really doing it. You might be thinking about starting to write your riveting Great American Novel. The one that hits #1 on the New York Times, Washington Post, and Wall Street Journal Best-Sellers lists and lands you a big movie deal.
But just thinking isn’t doing. You need to take a leap of faith (or desperation) and get started.
