How a Midday Routine Can Save Your Day

Build a midday routine that stops mid-afternoon energy crashes

--

The first two hours after I get up in the morning are boring.

Not boring in the “I’ve got nothing to do” sense but in the “lack of stress and emotional surprises” sense. And I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way.

I wake up, and I know exactly what happens in the next two hours to set me up for my productive day. Yeah, I’m one of those people who have a morning routine.

I know I’m not alone. Millions of people have morning routines, all designed with one goal in mind: to set us up for a fantastic, focused, productive day. This is precisely what they do until the well-known, productivity-zapping, midday slump appears.

Strangely enough, midday routines are not something you hear about very often. They haven’t gotten the excellent PR that morning routines have, but that doesn’t make them any less critical.

If a midday routine isn’t something you currently have, I strongly suggest you consider putting one together. The danger of your productivity going off track at midday due to circadian rhythms, metabolism, human biology, and, of course, lunch has the potential to present itself to you nearly every day.
