I have a love/hate relationship with cookies.

I love all kinds of cookies, especially those that contain flour, butter, and sugar. So, basically, all of them. I hate them because they always seem to disagree with the numbers I want to see on my bathroom scale.

I know that I’m so defenseless against cookies that I never even walk down the cookie aisle in the grocery store. Cookies represent an obstacle to achieving what matters the most to me right now: lower numbers on my scale. So I am making it a point to have no ready access to them, so I can’t easily give in to a cookie-eating urge, even if I wanted to.

I’m practicing one of the best ways to succeed at a goal: making it easier to do what matters most by removing an obstacle that stands in the way of success.

Cookies definitely stood in my way, so I blocked them by not letting them into my house, making it easier to achieve my goal.
