The Simple Way To Make Progress Happen, No Matter What You’re Working On
The not-so-secret way to do anything better
Last week, during a conversation with members of a business mastermind I belong to, one of the participants talked about their desire to improve their running speed.
They were trying to compete in longer road races and were dissatisfied with their current pace. They were unhappy that their training wasn’t leading to their desired result. They were doubting themselves and starting to think that they were destined to be at the back of the pack forever.
(If you’re not a runner — and I’m definitely not one either — hang in there, runner or not, this applies to you, I promise!)
While not necessarily a business question, a deep discussion ensued, with various people sharing their thoughts on techniques, nutrition, and equipment. Finally, one quiet member unmuted his mic, stared into the camera, and said, “My dude! If you want to run faster, run faster.”
This statement stopped everyone in their tracks because of the simplicity and accuracy of his comment. If you want to run faster, run faster.
You now may be thinking: What? That’s it?
